Born in Glasgow, Kevin was first introduced as the Kevin McDermott Orchestra in 1989 with the highly accomplished and acclaimed ‘Mother Nature’s Kitchen’.
Now, with more than five critically successful albums in his repertoire, Kevin’s reputation has been established on the national and international stage.

Kevin McDermott has long been regarded as one of Scotland’s foremost songwriters and performers. 1986 Toured UK and US promoting album. Returned and formed the Kevin McDermott Orchestra

1988 Signed to Island Records and recorded first KMO album

1989/90 Released Mother Nature’s Kitchen and several singles including ‘Wheels Of Wonder’ and ‘Angel’. Toured US, UK and Europe with extensive broadcast commitments

1991/92 Released 'Bedazzled' on '13 Records' label. Promoted with 20 minute 'movie' programmed and scheduled on national TV. Toured UK and Europe with Rod Stewart, Sting and Simple Minds. KMO tour dates interspersed

1994 Released ‘The Last Supper’ on Iona Gold. Toured extensively to promote

1995 - 1998 Toured solo and wrote material for new projects

1998 Released ‘For Those In Peril From The Sea’ on my own label Tula Records Toured to promote

2000 Released ‘Fair and Whole’ on Tula Records with touring and promotional campaign

2000 - 2005 Recording new material for solo project. Developed an acoustic 'retrospective'

2005/06 Re-released most of the Kevin McDermott back catalogue on River Records. Stimulated a re-generation of interest in the material in both press and radio with a marked upturn in ‘airplay’ and sales

2007 Building promotional campaign for new material and album launch. Significant rehearsal schedule underway

2008 Released solo album ‘Wise To The Fade’ at Celtic Connections supported by major promotional campaign. Coast to coast, 6 in 1 day, gigs across Scotland. Sell out performance at Glasgow’s ABC. More to come…
